Bear Creek Funeral Home and Cremation Sanctuary remains dedicated to not just the emotional health of the families and communities we serve, but their physical health as well. We have a minimum of staff present at our facilities with others rotating shifts and working from home. Our facilities are kept on a strict sanitizing schedule to the highest standard possible to protect those who come in to make arrangements or say a final goodbye.
We understand the importance of a dignified farewell and have adjusted our services to meet the COVID-19 guidelines recommended by Alberta Health Services, the Province of Alberta, and local municipal government. Accommodations due to the pandemic guidelines come at no additional charge to our families, as we are all in this together. It’s important to note that Bear Creek Funeral Home will not charge families now for services planned in the future.
We continue to provide the following, and much more:
- Arrangements in-person or online,
- Cremation and burial options,
- Visitations with limited attendees and careful scheduling,
- Services with family and invited guests present to limit gathering size,
- Live-streaming or recorded services at no additional charge,
- Direct cremation with postponement of Celebration of Life.
With Grande Prairie’s only onsite crematorium, we are uniquely able to provide a private farewell prior to cremation. Families are grateful for the opportunity to say a final goodbye in the comfort of our Cremation Sanctuary, and appreciate the assurance that their loved one never leaves our care. This service has been ideal for families during this time of social distancing.
