Obituary For Robert (Bob) Hansen

July 21, 1962 – August 20, 2026

The family of Robert (Bob) Hansen is saddened to announce his passing on August 20, 2026.

Bob was born in Hay River, NWT, on July 21, 1962. In his early twenties, he moved with the family to Alberta, settling in Grande Prairie. Bob was a loyal Oilers and Blue Jays fan. Bob was very social and was always out and about, coffee in hand. He loved to joke around and would surprise us with his good one liners. Family was important to Bob and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bob is survived by his mom Mary Hansen, sisters Andrea Hansen, Kori Grykuliak, and Dale Nielson; brothers Harry Clarke, Grant Nielson, and Raymond Nielsen; and a large extended family.

He is predeceased by his father Eric Hansen, and brother Robert Clarke.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Bear Creek Funeral Home in Grande Prairie, AB.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to an organization of your choice.

    I was blessed with the opportunity to spend time with Robert on many occasions over the years. Robert was a good man, and he will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. I have so many fond memories of Robert; he will always hold special place in my heart. Robert was truly a man of faith, and I pray that brings sime comfort to his family. Robert is up there with the LORD, now. Rest in peace, Robert.
