October 30, 1947 – July 19, 2026

Marion Jean Braumberger (Eggers) passed away peacefully in Grande Prairie on July 19, 2026, at the age of 78. Marion was born October 30, 1947, and raised in the Teepee Creek area to Otto and Mary Eggers.

In 1964 Marion married Raymond Braumberger. They eventually set up in the Saddle Hills north of Sexsmith where they raised their two children Darcy and Rhonda. Marion and Ray raised Polled Herefords on what became Silver Arrow farm with a million-dollar view. Ray worked in the oilpatch, leaving Marion to look after the farm. Delivered calves in every harsh weather condition around the clock and during the day she drove school bus for Peace Wapiti. Marion took pride in her home and yard where she proudly maintained the most meticulously landscaped farmyard and a large garden. She enjoyed her many orange barn cats and especially loved her Great Pyrenees dog, Bear. In her final years on the farm, Marion fully restored the old barn by hand, preserving and ensuring the old log barn would stand for many more years.

In 2018, Ray and Marion sold their Silver Arrow farm and moved into Grande Prairie to a beautiful home with a view of Crystal Lake that was two doors down from her daughter Rhonda’s family, reuniting being close neighbours again as they were on the farm.

Marion was respected for her strength and perseverance. She took on projects such as renovating homes and had a drapery and reupholstery business. Marion had a very strong work ethic and her belief, “if you wanted something done right – do it yourself.” Growing up with that philosophy, we quickly learned that if we wanted something done right, we asked Marion to do it!

In Marion and Raymond’s retirement years, they found joy in their vacation home and pool in Goodyear, Arizona. It introduced her to a new style of landscaping desert plants and cactus varieties.

Marion loved her family most of all and sacrificed endlessly to make sure everyone was taken care of.

Left to mourn her passing are her daughter Rhonda Berg (Grant) and grandchildren, Jared Berg, Regan Berg, Brandon Rode (Ginger) and her great grandchildren, Walker and Eva. In-laws Dale, Larry, Shirley, Ron (AnnaBelle) Braumberger, Candace Eggers and many nieces and nephews. Honorary grandchildren Isabella, Sophia, Tori Warren and Kyle Lovett who, over the years became a very beloved part of her family.

Marion is predeceased by her parents Otto and Mary, husband Ray, son Darcy, and her siblings, Doreen (George) Parker, Louise (Ernie) Braumberger, and Melvin Eggers. In-laws Alice and Bruno Braumberger, Danny Braumberger, Gary Braumberger, Dennis Braumberger, Rose and Bill Badger and Chuck Milinkovic.

Honoring Marion’s wishes there will be no service. in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Grande Prairie Palliative Care Society or the Canadian Cancer Society.
