Obituary For Mandeep Sandhu

Mandeep Kaur Sandhu (Singh) was born September 24, 1977 in Grande Prairie, Alberta to Mohinder Singh and Jasmer Kaur.

Mandy was the first born in the Singh-Minhas clan and was cherished by everyone in the household. Eleven months and two weeks later, came her first soul mate, Ras. Then her first baby before her babies, Pard. Her soft-hearted Vickram, and baby doll Komal soon followed. With Mandy at the helm, a whole world was built for us to thrive.

The eldest of the Singh-Minhas bunch, Mandy was always under a tight and watchful eye of mom and dad, and Pari and Chach. When she found her way to university, she also found her way to freedom. Freedom that included the best themed parties campus had seen, and many of you experienced.

She was a true adventurer, her craving for exploring the world and its cultures brought her to life. From backpacking across Europe, to safari in Tanzania, soul filling family adventures to India, and retreats in Mexico, Mandy loved every corner of the world she experienced.

Little did she know, she was bound to find love in her hometown. A set-up gone wrong, led this Singh sister to meet the love of her life. Her knight in shining armor swept her off her feet, onto his Harley and convinced her to start their life together in Dawson Creek.

They loved hard and played hard… one unforgettable Forever 29 party later and their lives changed forever.

The end of a decade led to one of her greatest achievements: inviting Imani and Mia into this world. She had nurtured all of us, and it was time for her to nurture her greatest legacy, her daughters. Watching her raise her two littles, showed us all what being a mother could be.

From watching her littles take their first steps in life, to watching them take their first steps on stage, as they grew, Mandy was gifted the time to start investing back into her soul. She began a journey into healing, meditation, breathwork, self care, and deep meaningful self-reflection. In the last year she nurtured herself in the ways she’d poured into others for the years before.

As this journey culminated, so too did her time with us. Mandy’s mission in life was rooted in the depth and power of her relationships. She was gifted the ability to help people feel things they’d never felt before, from being seen, to being loved, to never being judged. She held us all, even here today, she’s holding us in the depths of our grief and loss.

Mandy is our angel. Her laughter will echo in our lives forever. She is with us each and every day. In each sunrise, and sunset. She is right here with us.

Today and everyday we celebrate her brilliance and love.

She was the best of us.

Mandy was such a wonderful person to be around. I was lucky to teach her two amazing daughters dance lessons and seeing how much Mandy loved and supported them and nurtured their talent was really a blessing. Every time Mandy entered the studio, she brought such an incredible energy with her and set everyone at ease around her. I didn't know her well, but I'm so grateful I got to know her at all. The world will continue to be blessed by her energy as it continues to thrive in her two beautiful daughters.

I grew up with Mandy, but lost touch over the years. I have often wondered what happened to my childhood friend, and only heard news through other family friends. I was sad to hear of her passing. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

Imani and Mia, I am thinking of you and your family. I was just about to know your mother. I had always heard such wonderful stories about her helpfulness and volunteerism. I am very thankful to know you and see your mother shining in your hearts and gestures. Hopefully, during the celebration of her life you will hear new stories that you didn't know about her and get to know her in a new way. I am so sorry. She should be here with you. Please gather your family into a tight circle and honour your mum today and every day. All my best wishes to you all. Debbie Longley

Meenu was the most beautiful soul. She always made me feel like it was just yesterday that we were together rather than the many years that would pass before we could see each other. She brought sunshine wherever she went. Always smiling and laughing. I loved Meenu so much. I will miss her dearly. Sending love to all her family. I can imagine your heartbreak. Heaven took back a beautiful angel. Please reach out whenever you need anything. Love all of you.

Jas, although you and Mandy entered my life only briefly during the Soul Revival Retreat, it was such a pleasure and a privilege to spend that week getting to know you both. Your Mandy was such a bright light, I felt like I had known her forever. Her friendliness, her wonderful laugh, just so warm and easy to be with...my heart aches for you and your family for this unexpected loss. God bless and be with you, Jas and know you are in my thoughts now and in the days to come. ❤️Laurie

Only met Mandy, Aman and darling Imani and Mia 2 years back when we moved to Canada and Dawson Creek. Mandy touched our lives even in this brief time. Saw how devoted she was as a mother as she attended every performance of Imani'a beautiful play last summer. The image of the four of them dancing and singing together at the Liz Mitchell concert last November will stay etched in memory forever. ❤️ Unimaginable loss for the Sandhu-Minhas families. Gone too soon... 💔
