Obituary For Dianne Lorraine Gaboury (nee Carragher)

In Loving Memory of Dianne.

November 13, 1956 – July 27, 2026

Dianne left us far too soon after a battle with lung cancer. She passed away July 27, 2026, in Peace River, AB, at 69 years old. Dianne was born to Vern and Jean Carragher, November 13, 1956, in Rimbey, AB.

Dianne spent her elementary school years in Marysville, BC. She moved with her family to Grande Prairie when she was in grade 6 and graduated grade 12 from St. Joseph’s Catholic High School.

Dianne’s passion was painting; she was a true artist. She painted landscapes and scenic views of the Peace Country. Many of which have hung in art galleries, shops and homes around the world. She also had an amazing talent for painting portraits. She delighted in painting the family, not in usual portrait poses, but catching fun moments in time depicting their personalities. Dianne made many friends along the way while teaching painting in the Peace Region. She also painted and sold Christmas ornaments at the annual Farmers Christmas Market. She absolutely loved everyone who stopped by, shared a smile, or a story that came to mind when they saw a familiar scene on an ornament. She had a great sense of humour with an unmatched wit. Her favourite colour was pink, and butterflies adorned almost everything she collected and wore.

In the past few years as her health declined, she wasn’t able to paint or attend the booth she had shared with Geri Hives at the market. Dianne shared fond memories of painting and shows with Artists North. She reminisced many times about the great friends she had met along the way and the places she had been over the years.

Dianne is and will very much be missed by her long-time partner Gerald Osinchuk. They moved to the family acreage in the Peace River area and spent many years caring for their cats and watching the wildlife outside their windows. They hosted many family and friends and enjoyed an active card game or two with lots of joking and laughter.

Dianne leaves behind her partner Gerald Osinchuk, along with her beloved children, Jason Gaboury and Shalah Roteliuk (Ryan). Brothers, Lee Carragher and Kurt Robinson (Dawna) and sister Kyra Abele (George). Her nieces and nephews, Ashley Carragher, Daniel Carragher (Kestyn), Joshua Carragher (Bethany), Courtney Moodie (Dustin), Sarah Rhyason (Mark), Monica Thiessen (Jeromy), Heather Abele (Tom), and Catlin Abele (Nathalie). Along with Geralds loving family Billy & Jo-Anne Osinchuk, Bob, Marion, David, Russell Osinchuk and families.

Dianne was predeceased by her mother and father, Jean and Vern Carragher and her stepmother Patricia Carragher. As well as Gerald’s father, Bill, and mother, Rose Osinchuk.

Dianne will be deeply missed by all her family and many friends.

Forever in our hearts, forever painting sunsets.

In accordance with the families wishes, there is no funeral service scheduled at this time.
