Anne Bohler

July 15, 1940 – November 12, 2025. Age 85

It is with heavy hearts and sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother, grandmother and aunt.

The most important part of my mom’s life was family. She was known to be sweet as pie, but cross her, she’d become your own personal tsunami. Mom had a wit and a sense of humor that could nail you down or laugh. She was entertaining and known for her shock value statements. She was a storyteller, known to regale stories of the past, from the Boogie Man to her Mom and Dad’s love story and her own.

Born and lived in Sturgeon Lake and attended St. Andrew’s Anglican Mission until the age of 16. She was married to Steve Bohler in 1964 and together they raised 6 children and countless foster children until the age of 45. We enjoyed flushing hides and picking cones when we were little. Mom enjoyed Bingo, reading, card games and watching her soaps. Mom and Dad owned a farmstead where we farmed and raised animals. Together they opened Steve’s Variety Store and Anne eventually ran it by herself, while Dad ran the very first pet shop of Grande Prairie. Grand parented Barb for 6 years while Rose was working. Mom enjoyed bingo, reading, card games and watching her soaps. Mom and Dad owned a homestead where they farmed and raised animals. They were known to go sledding, swimming, camping and fishing with the family. My Mom and Dad also made time for themselves. They had mud fights and snowball fights, which usually ended dancing to the music only they heard. They were known to take long walks hand in hand or to take long drives together.

Anne is survived by her children; Steve Jr. (Theresa), Brian (Fran), Rose and John. Her Grandchildren; Jessica, Jerrylynn, Elias, Donal, Amanda (Cory) Ladoucuer, Daniel, Chris, Barb, Caitlin, Tori, Tirell, Quinn, Chase, Marcus, Walter, Darryl, and Carmen. She will also be missed by many Great Grandchildren.

Anne is pre-deceased by her parents Emilienne and Joseph Kiyawasew and 12 other siblings with special mention to Marcel and Sophie. Son’s Jerry and Wayne. Grandchildren; Pat, Chad and Jamie.

By invitation only a celebration of life to be held July 4, 2026 at 3 pm at Bear Creek Funeral Home.
